Thought behind the painting
This painting was inspired by an early winter morning walk around Djurgården. Stockholm was engulfed in a thick mist, creating a mysterious atmosphere. It was thrilling to watch the scenery emerge from the heavy fog, and I was captivated by the light dancing through the clouds, creating striking silhouettes. It felt as if I were inside a clouded heavenly realm. The usual hustle and bustle of Stockholm had given way to an extraordinary quiet. My goal with this painting was to convey that sense of tranquility. Initially, I made a sketch of the actual scene, but I felt it didn't capture the calmness I experienced. This realization led me to transform it into the current painting. I found that lighter values and pastel colors better expressed the serenity and stillness I felt that morning.
